November 13 Update: Hank is a happy, happy dog. I think his tail wags 24/7! He is a very loving, people oriented dog and is content to be where ever you are, doing whatever you are doing. He loves his daily walks and does great on the leash. He enjoys playing with other dogs, especially wrestling with his foster sister. Like a typical lab, he is very food motivated which comes in handy for training purposes. He knows basic commands and is in obedience classes to perfect what he knows and learn more. Hank is housebroken and crate trained. He's a little reluctant to go into his crate at times but its just because he likes to be with his people. He enjoys toys, bones, riding in the car and going to the dog park. He is just 80 lbs of pure LOVE!
August 11 Update: Hank the Tank (we added a little to his name) is starting to settle in quite nicely. He and my dog LOVE to play. It is a WWF smackdown in my living room every evening....HA! However, it is our dog, Emma, who seems to be the primary instigator. Hank is a pretty well behaved guy. We've kept him busy so that he is tired out and won't be tempted to be naughty. He is doing well on the leash and only pulls when he is provoked by those nasty squirrels. He also loves, loves, LOVES the dog park. We go there almost every evening and he has the nicest manners. Loves to play with all dogs large and small. He rarely, if ever barks. House-training is coming along. Mostly it is us people who are having to learn his cues that he needs to go out. We've had a few accidents but it is only because we are new to having a boy dog and are learning his method of communication. He really is the sweetest dog. Loves to be around people and gives lots of kisses.
