Karma appears to have been dumped 15 miles away from where we think she lived. A neighbor recognized her when he saw her on the road and picked her up. Her family was moving and had called a rescue saying they had to get rid if her but never called the rescue back and 1 week later the family was gone and Karma was found wandering.
She is good with other dogs, seems ok with cats and wagged her tail when she saw her foster's children.
She was covered in ticks when we got her but after a nice bath and a de-ticking (Thank you Michelle from Natural Pet Center) she is feeling much better.
Please read her foster feedback for more info.
Karma is looking for a family that will love her forever. Please considering adopting her.

August 2nd - Karma is a very sweet dog. She loves small children (I have two young children and she has never been aggresive towards them- she has only given them kisses) and greets strangers very well. She listens to commands and is a very intelligent dog. She walks wonderfully on a leash: she doesn't pull. She loves to be outside, but when she is inside, she follows me around and lays next to me when I sit down. She doesn't bark nor beg for food. She is very mellow and seems to want to please. Karma doesn't seem to know how to approach her fellow canines and will act aggresively at the first meeting. She attempted this when meeting my dog but after a firm "no" from me, she and my dog have gotten on great with each other. They have had no dominance problems. I have been working with her on this issue and I believe this behavior of hers can be corrected- since she listens so well. She also ignores my cats. She is kennel trained and does best in a small room at night- as she has piddled on my floors if left to roam, but if she sleeps in a bedroom, then she does not exhibit that behavior. And otherwise is completely housebroken. Definately, her sweet dispostition outweighs her negatives. She would do best in any family situation that will love her and show her affection.
May 1 - Karma is doing well. Her first couple of
days with us were really scary for her (she was afraid of everything even
other animals, but she was not scared of me or my daughter). I am not
sure what she went through, but it could not have been good. She cowers
down when you first try to pet her and blinks her eyes. However, with
time, she is learning to trust us. She has been doing better and better
each day and now is comfortable that she is just like part of the family.
Karma is a very sweet girl. She will need a home that is willing to work
with her in order to get over her fears. She loves to be petted &
rubbed. She doesn't seem interested in toys and playing yet..
She is a very smart girl and seems eager to please. She is content just
being by your side or hanging out on the deck. She is not a barker. She
has her own special room she hangs out in during the day when I'm at work
and she goes in there with no problem, doesn't bark or whine at all.
She will be a great dog for someone who is willing to give her a lot of
attention and love. She would love to be an only dog, but would do well
with others as well. She doesn't pay attention to cats and does well with
both dogs & cats. At first meeting however, she does not like other
dogs and it takes her a while to warm up to them and trust them.
