January 7 Update - When I started fostering for this rescue, I always said that I would foster any dog except for a pit pull. But when we heard that Matty really needed a place to stay, we decided that we would give him a chance. The first night we had him, he won over our hearts. He is a wonderful dog and gets along with his human friends great. He likes to chew his bone, play tug of war, sleep with his head on your lap and have his ears scratched. We are training with Abby from Pawsitive Vibes and some of the things that we have learned are how to walk on lead, sit, lay down, play games and this week we learned "leave it". He loves to do his version of the army crawl across the floor and likes to talk to people. He hardly ever barks unless you come in his room and then he will talk to you.

Matty is one of the most loving dogs that my family has fostered so far. He loves to be with people and picks up very quickly on his training. He does not get along with other dogs or cats. He is house broken and crate trained.

Matty's Recent Adventure - One of our dog walkers took Matty home with her for some play time. After a short walk around the neighborhood Matty got to enjoy some doggy ice cream, play with a basket full of dog toys, and cuddle on the bed for a short nap. Check out the pictures!

Matty is an active dog and needs a home that will take him for walks, runs, bike rides etc. and then relax with him on the couch. He picks up commands quickly when treats are involved! He does not understand how to play with other dogs and for this reason we are looking for a home where he can be an only pet. He has done well when meeting female dogs and going for walks with them, but doesn't understand play time with dogs. He is not good with cats. We are looking for a home with older children, the only reason, he gets very excited (in a good way) when he meets people and we wouldn't want him to knock over a toddler in his excitement.
