Max along with his sibling Milo were rehomed by their owners 5-6 months ago into what the owners thought would be a good home. They were horrified to learn from our website that they were in a local pound. You can read more about it here.
Max is a gentle giant. Although he is tall he isn't extremely large in width. He is a young 2 1/2 year old healthy, happy, lab. I have never seen a dog so happy all the time. He loves you truly. The minute he see's you he goes crazy.
He loves to be outdoors as much as possible, but is house trained. Say the word kennel and he knows where to go. Max is a great dog and great with kids. Never would hurt a fly!
Max and Milo have been together since they were young pups. They have a very strong bond and we are trying to find a home that will adopt them together. They have been through alot and rely on one another for support. We want to ensure that they stay together so please considering adding both of these loving dogs to your home.
December 4th - We have taken Milo and Max to the dog park and they have enjoyed themselves. Max does not like being in the 'bigger dog' section without Milo and gets stressed seeing Milo next door. So we put both of them in the "smaller dog" section together when there wasn't too many smaller dogs around. They love it with all the freedom to run.
They both will retrieve balls or toys but not outside...too many distractions. Milo loves the great outdoors and would love a doggie door to go in and out as he pleases. Max would prefer to check on his little buddy and then come inside where we are at. Both of them love raw hides and milk bones.
We just realized that Max knows how to howl. The kids and Max get together and have a howling match to see who is the loudest. It's fun to watch! Max loves human affection and Milo is split between human attention (loves the belly rubs) and what's going on outside.
A fenced in yard would be ideal for both of these guys, as they love
to play fight and run. The tie-out cables we have get tangled up and make
it difficult for them. They are really nice dogs and deserve a wonderful
home.
October 12th - Our first day with them was Sunday. They did very well adjusting to new surroundings. The kids love hanging out with Max (black lab cross) and Milo (bichon cross), each of them taking turns walking and playing with them. We are at home most of the day as I do not work out of the home.
I have to tell you that I am not a small dog person but Milo could change that. He is such a sweetie and just falls in line with the family setting. My son says that he was very brave during his bath and was happy when it was finished. My husband says his little 5 inch legs are deceiving as he is able to get up and down as fast as Max. Milo waits to be invited into your lap. He loves attention but does not demand it.
Max is adorable. He follows me all around the house. He is very attentive to what I am doing and where I am going. He's a leaner and demands loving attention. He puts his face right into your lap and waits to get petted or hugged.
Milo and Max are both so well behaved. Both dogs are such joy to have around and will provide such a blessing to the right family.
