July 18 - Feedback from Molly´s wonderful foster mom! Click the foster feedback tab to read how our Molly is doing.
With the help of some generous donators we raised $280 to have dental work done on Molly's teeth. Due to their horrible condition, all the teeth had to be removed. Molly will now need a special diet, but at least her teeth won't be bothering her anymore.

July 18 Foster Mom´s Feedback - Everything is going very well! She doesn't bother the cats at all nor are the cats afraid of Molly, which is a huge plus!! Addison (large breed puppy that is Molly´s foster sister) is very good with her, I was nervous that Addison might be kinda roudy for her but not at all! No growling or lip curling going on, they get treats together and there is no jealousy at all. She is eating very good, it´s almost like she can´t wait to eat in the morning. She seems very happy and is a very excited dog. She follows me around wherever I go, it´s kinda cute. She also does very well with her crate, we say kennel up and she goes right in. My husband is especially surprised by this... he he. Amber
If you aren't familiar with Italian Greyhounds please read about them on the Internet. Here is a place to start: Italian Greyhound.org
Italian Greyhounds usually range from 13 to 15 inches in height but 16 to 19 inches is not uncommon. Weight can range from seven to fifteen pounds with ten pounds being the average. They are an AKC registered breed and are considered part of the "Toy Group".
Some owners prefer to use an indoor litter box. The IG litter box is larger than a cat's and is usually lined with newspaper. The internet reports IGs train to litterboxes fairly easily. It is very hard, if not impossible, to convince an Italian Greyhound to go
outside in extremely cold, wet, or very windy conditions ;) The fur of the Italian Greyhound is very sleek and short. IG's carry virtually
no odor. Some owners, who are allergic to dogs, report the ability to
successfully live with Italian Greyhounds (sometimes even to sleep with them in
the same bed!). Because of short hair and low body weight, IG's are
uncomfortable in extremely cold weather conditions. Owners should consider using sweaters and perhaps even boots on the animals
during this kind of weather. Ears should be monitored also so that frostbite
does not set in.
You can see that Molly needs dental work. We are looking forward to taking her in. We'll post her dental date when we get it set up, and the results and before/after pictures. Her appointment will be set up soon.
Hmmm, looks like Molly gets to check out the the chewey while her foster friend watches, these two foster friends do well together!
