Olive is a 2 year old boxer mix that enjoys getting attention and just being around people.
Olives loves to play fetch - she could play fetch for hours!
Although Olives loves to run around outside, she is very passive and calm in the house. Her current foster home does not feel she needs to be kenneled when they are gone as she is a good dog when home alone.
Please read her foster feedback for more info about her.
If you would like to provide Olive a loving home, please fill out the below pre-adoption application.

July 8th st - I can’t say enough about this dog – she is a very good dog. Olive loves to be around people. She enjoys the company of humans more than another dog. She does not really play with other dogs….so she may do best as a single dog that can be smothered in human affection. She really just wants somebody to throw her ball for her!! She could play fetch for hours. She is a very passive girl and does not need to be kenneled when I am gone. I have NEVER seen her in the garbage or on the counter looking for food. I actually forgot my breakfast on the table one morning—and it was still there 9 hours later!! So she is such a good dog when home alone.
I have a small dog and a cat and Olive does not pay much attention to either of them. I think Olive would chase a cat if it were to run…but she is fine with my cat who is very dog friendly. Miss Olive LOVES to run. She is very fast and would enjoy somebody that could either run or bike with her. She is doing really well on a leash and is getting much better at not pulling. I believe Olive would be great with kids especially one that can throw her ball! She has met my 1 yr old nephew and is perfect around him. Olive would love to have a family to call her own.
May 21st - What do I say about my Olive? I was a
bit nervous at first, I'd heard some horror stories about "Boxer
Energy" but thankfully, Miss Olive does have an "off switch"!
She can be running like a crazy lady in the yard, and as soon as she comes
into the house, she is calm, she seems to know that she needs to be calm
in the house. She gets along with my 2 dogs wonderfully, sharing food
and toys with no problems. She does like to wrestle, as do my other 2,
but she responds to a firm "No" and settles down when asked.
Olive LOVES to play fetch! She will fetch ANYTHING you throw for her be
it a frisbee, tennis ball, kong, any toy, she'll bring it right back!
She also likes to play soccer, she'll kick a basketball around my backyard
and try to keep it away from my dogs, it's funny to watch.
Olive likes to go for walks, but since she must be part plow horse, she
wears a harness to keep her from dragging me down the street. With the
harness on, she is a piece of cake to walk, I'll admit, I haven't tried
her without it. She also likes to tag along on bike rides. She really
enjoys getting to run fast!
She has had NO accidents in the house and will either whine at the window
or the door to be let outside. Olive is not destructive and sleeps on
the bedroom floor at night. She is kenneled for a few hours during the
day while I'm at work, and when she goes in her kennel she immediatley
lays down. She is very calm when you let her out as well. She is also
an excellent passenger in the car, immediatley hopping in the cargo area
of my Jeep and laying down.
Olive LOVES my kids, I find her at least 3 times a day, curled up on my
son's beanbag in front of his window, laying in the sun. She will ignore
the other dogs to follow my sons around. Everytime I get up at night she
has to come with me and check on "her kids".
Olive barks incessantly at, and tries to chase my cat, so a home without
cats would probably be best. Cats are probably the only thing she doesn't
like though! Olive is a very easy-going and mellow dog as long as she
gets her daily exercise! We're enjoying every minute fostering her, but
what Olive really wants is a forever home, with maybe another dog and
a kid or two to call her own. She's waiting patiently!
