Exceptional Dog!

Rosie is a very sweet girl who loves to go for walks. She walks well on a leash but does get excited and pulls when meeting other dogs.

Rosie does wonderfully with kids and absolutely adores puppies (see Pic 1 where she is playing with a 11 week old mini dachshund puppy). Her foster family affectionately calls her "Momma Dog" as she is very gentle and loving towards the puppy. Although she likes small puppies she does NOT like cats!

Rosie's foster mom says "She is one of the kindest dogs I think I have ever met. I am a bully breed lover and she has one of the best dispositions I have ever seen." Please see the foster feedback tab for more info about Rosie.

She will make someone an absolute AWESOME pet as soon as the right person comes along! If you think you are that person, please fill out the below pre-adoption application.

June 5th Foster Home Feedback - Rosie is an absolute doll. She is very sweet and loving towards all of my friends and family. She also dotes over my 8 month old daschund Pedro. They play very well together. She is good-natured and charming. She loves to "talk" when she wants something (like her treats :). Rosie is angelic looking when she lies on the couch in the sun (she loves to sun bathe), and loves to go for walks and roll in the grass. Rosie does very well with house training. She NEVER has had an accident in my house! She is just a great dog.

I would recommend that she be either an only dog or to be slowly introduced to a much smaller submissive male dog. She will definately stand her ground to protect her territory, both house and the people in her "pack". I have never seen her be aggressive to people in anyway shape or form.

January 13th Update - Rosie has been with me and my girls (ages 15 & 10) for about 4 months now. She is one of the kindest dogs I think I have ever met. I am a bully breed lover and she has one of the best dispositions I have ever seen. She is gentle with kids and strangers when properly introduced, but will also stand her ground when someone comes in if the family is not home. (For instance my dad stopped one day to drop something off and she met him at the door and wouldn't really let him in.) She absolutely loves to go for walks and is still working on meeting other dogs on lead. We continue to walk as much as we can.....we have about 3 feet of snow on the ground right now. She does love her treats and food. She has filled out nicely since her spay back in October. She is current on her vaccinations. Rosie is excellent with Pedro our small, young pup. We affectionately call her "Mama Dog". They play for hours. She is very gentle and loving toward him as you can see in the photos. She will make someone an absolute AWESOME pet as soon as the right person comes along!

January 8th Update - Rosie's foster home recently acquired an 11 week old mini dachshund puppy whom they named Pedro. This is what they have to say about Rosie's interactions with Pedro... "Rosie and Pedro get along absolutely wonderfully. She plays and plays with him. They run up and down the hall and chase each other and roll around on the floor together. He will then go hide under a chair and she waits and "talks" to him to get him to come out and off they go again! It is too cute. She even rolls over and lets him climb all over her!"

Check out the Pic 1 tab for pictures of Rosie interacting with Pedro.

July - Rosie´s outing:I brought Rosie home with me for some playtime. My two dogs were at my Mom's house so Rosie had the entire toy box to herself. She thoroughly enjoyed sniffing them all but wasn't too sure what to do with them. She had fun chasing after them as I tossed them around the room for her. In particular, she liked the one that looks like a cat! Gee... I wonder why? While she was here I tried to get her into the tub for a bath. She wasn't a willing participant. She seemed to know what the tub was for. I didn't want to force her so instead we had a sponge bath out on the deck. She was a very well behaved house guest and even settled down enough for a short nap. (please click the tabs to see pictures of Rosie´s outing)

Rosie was previously named Rose. Several volunteers felt the name Rosie better reflected her personality, so her name was changed

From previous foster: Rose is adapting well to her new environment. We go on walks every morning (usually around 6:30 am), at lunchtime (around 1:30) after work (at 5:30) and again before bed (about 10:00 typically). We allow her to be out of her kennel when we're around to supervise, and she seems to enjoy having a place to feel like she can run around in. She has never had an accident yet, and has only barked on occasion (when there's a small dog walking by what she now thinks as "her" property!). She is so easy to have around the condo.

We have taken her to the farm where Daniel grew up, as well, but we think she was a little confused by everything there. We now truly understand that she does NOT like cats)! She also didn't quite understand what the horses were. She seemed to like the idea of a large area to run around in (we jogged the 1/2 mile to the mailbox on the farm a few times)!! I think she would need to be a city dog, however!! Anyway, my husband just loves having her around and we are really having fun fostering her!

Rosie is definitely a lady of leisure. She does prefer to lounge on the sofa and bed though!
