We
adopted Kobe last April from 4 Luv of Dogs. We fell in love with him at
a meet and greet at Petsmart. After a patient waiting process we got to
drive to his foster home and bring him home.
Kobe loves to go to the lake with us, camp and go on long runs with his
daddy and bike rides every morning with his mom. His sisters run and chase
with him daily and he loves to cuddle with them on their sleeping bags when
they have friends over for a sleepover.
We feel blessed and know that he was meant for our family. Kobe is the best.

We adopted Chino (formerly “Romeo”) from the organization
in November of 2009. He has been a complete joy to have around ever since!
My husband and I can’t remember what life was like without him.
He really likes the big backyard and we are making plans to build a fence so he can run outside as long as he wants. We discovered he loves going to the lake and playing in the water. He won’t swim but he likes getting wet and fetching his ball. He also really seems to enjoy boat rides.
As you see in the pictures, he almost always has a ball or a bone with him. He’s very smart and knows a lot of tricks already. He loves his daily walks and now that I’m walking him later in the evening so it’s not so hot, he lets me know that he’s ready for the walk! He’ll put his head in my lap whenever he needs to go outside…he doesn’t whine or bark just gives me a “look.” He’s definitely a “mama’s boy”…he follows me all around the house and always has to be in the same room as me. He is really good with our two cats and with kids and other dogs.
What a sweetheart…we couldn’t be happier! ~Allyson
Buford, the Blue Tick Coonhound, joined our family in October of 2009. He is a cute, fun and curious dog to be around. It seems like he may have been abused in his prior life due to some of his very noticeable dislikes such as the basement and bonfires. He has overcome his fear of the basement and actually spends time there when we have a bonfire in the backyard!
He can be very independent at times and has claimed his own bedroom in the house. He prefers to sleep alone on warm summer nights but during the winter he knows how to snuggle in with us. And snore…boy…can he snore!!!!!
He gets along well with others and has even been recognized at the park from his picture on the 4 Luv of Dog website!
He loves to go for long walks – but gets really sad when you turn
to head for home. Not sure how he knows when we make the turn but we go
from a good 4 mph walk down to about 1 mph. If we turn and head the other
way we are back up to 4 mph!
He also loves to ride in the vehicles with us and let the wind blow his ears and lips! Being a hound dog – he has quite the nose on him. Not necessarily for other animals but for sweets and treats!
We could go on and on and on about Buford as he is such a cool dog and
we are very happy to have found him. ~Mike and Penny
Hello 4luvofdog! Just wanted to give you an update on Stella (formally known
as Hope) who we adopted in January. What can I say, she is the best dog
in the world! Our family loves her dearly! She hardly ever barks, we had
her for about 3 months before I ever heard her bark. She does howl in her
sleep sometimes which always gives us a good laugh.
Our 2 little girls are crazy about her. When my 7 year old gets off the
bus, Stella is always right there, ready to greet her at the door. We couldn't
ask for a better dog.
I work a lot of night shifts and Stella is more then happy just to lay
in bed with me and sleep all day until its time to get up.
She is very spoiled.
In one of these pictures she is sportin a new winter coat we got her, although I don't think she liked it much. :) I wondered for a while why nobody adopted her sooner, and now I realize it is because she was meant for us, and we couldn't be happier.
Thank you so much for letting us adopt the worlds greatest dog! We certainly
love our Stella Bell! ~ Holly
Hello! We adopted Rocky about 4 months ago. He is definately an adventurous
one. He loves to go to new places and meet anybody and anything. He loves
to play with kids and dogs. He is very friendly and has done great with
everyone he has meet. He enjoyed playing with my 9 year old sister. He followed
her everywhere she went and would sit when she told him to sit. He also
loves to sit outside and watch anything and everything move. When he isn't
outside watching everything, he sits at the top of the stairs and looks
out the window so he can keep an eye out.
He is a great addition to our family! We love him very much and can't thank you enough for helping us find him!
~Trisha and Al
Hello there! Scooter was adopted 4 months ago from this wonderful organization.
He is 10 months now and full of love and energy. It was by chance I found
him and he has been a blessing since the day he has come home with me. Scooter
had a rough start as a puppy being sick and not feeling well for the first
two months he got here, but I think he has forgotten all about his troubles
and realized how fun life can be! He loves stuffed animals, playing outside,
relaxing in the sun, taking rides in the car, going for long walks each
day, and cuddling with everyone. He is currently enrolled in training classes
and is making progress each week.
He can sit, stay, lay down, shake, come when called, and even roll over! When he wakes up in the morning, he will jump on the bed and lick you until you get up. A cute thing that he will do is bring his favorite stuff animal elephant, which I call Peanuts, upstairs to bed to cuddle with through the night; he his very attached to it. Since his birthday is coming up soon on July 4th, he will get to go to the lake and play in the water for the first time! Its only been a few months of his arrival and it feels like he has always been apart of the family.
Scooter and I thank you, 4-Luv-of Dogs, for giving him another chance at a good life and home. ~ Scooter and Megan
Hi Everyone! Simon here. I just have to tell all of you that I am SO happy
in my forever home! I've actually been here since April 29, 2009, and started
as a foster dog with this family when I was only about 6 months old. Seemed
like month after month that no one wanted me. Man, it made me sad. People
found out that I was afraid of just about everything (other dogs, doors,
people, sounds, you name it!) and then they'd move on to the next dog.
There have been dozens of different foster dogs here since then and I see them come and go. I learned to have lots and lots of fun with them but they would always get picked first by adopters. My foster family kept working with me and this really nice lady named Tara helped me and my foster family to understand what was going on with me.
Sometime last fall I started to feel a lot more comfortable and less afraid
of stuff so I started showing my foster family what a super cool guy I am.
I showed them that I can do everything from running super fast to cuddling
on the couch. Guess what!??! On December 29, 2009, my foster family adopted
me! I HAVE MY FOREVER HOME!
I absolutely love these guys and I absolutely love 4 Luv of Dog Rescue for rescuing me from a bad situation I was in as a pup and giving me everything I needed and what I needed most was this forever home! ~ Simon
Our beloved 9 year old Vizsla died and we got Dottie all in one months time.
She has been a great addition to the family during a sad time. When we first
adopted her, she was shy and didn’t seem to know how to play. It has
been fun to see her personality come out as she became settled in her new
home and now runs and plays and seems happy. She loves the kids and they
think the world of her. We couldn’t be happier with our new addition
and feel very lucky to have her in our home.
The volunteers at 4 Luv of Dog are wonderful. Thank you for all your help helping us through the adoption process!
~ Ellen
We
adopted Mauer, a Boarder Collie/ Alaskan Malamute mix, when he was 8 weeks
old, he was our first adopted dog. He is now almost a year old and loves
to play. We have a 3 year old Cocker Spaniel mix named Cuddy and they love
to play together, of course Mauer acts like a boarder collie and tries to
"herd" our other dog wherever they go. Mauer has been a great
addition to our family, he loves to go for walks and obeys about 6 commands
and still adding on. We have a 1 year old daughter and I was very surprised
how well he does with her. He likes to play with our whole family but has
a special attachment to me.

Luv of Dog was great to work with and the adoption process was very easy.
If you are looking to adopt, this is a great place to do it. We are looking
for a small lap dog and will be keeping out eyes on their website.
Thanks again 4 Luv of Dog!! ~Carlos
It was a little over a year ago that I saw a picture of Bruno's big brown
eyes pleading for safety and 4 Luv of Dog's post "Urgent: Injured Pitbull
Desperately Needs Help" on the website. After the rescue's generous
supporters raised the money for his first surgery he was on his way to my
house which was supposed to be his foster home. I could go on and on about
how wonderful Bruno is and how I'm so lucky to have him in my life, but
I really just want to say THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to 4 Luv of Dog
and all the wonderful people who helped save Bruno's life by donating for
his care.
Bruno is now a spoiled rotten pittie living the life with his best friend
Paydin (who was also adopted from 4 Luv of Dog), his canine sister Dakota,
and 6 cats. Bruno comes along with me wherever he is allowed and has changed
so many people's perspective's on the pit bull breed. Since he is a 3-legged
dog so many people want to hear his story, and it gives us a chance to "show
off" what pit bulls are really all about. I have yet to meet someone
that doesn't like Bruno!
A million thanks to all the people who knew that this extraordinary pit
bull was worth saving.
XOXO.
~Jamie, his former foster mom and now his forever mom :)
Elvis became my first foster dog September 11th 2009. He then became my
first adopted dog that December. As most foster parents will tell you, it
becomes so difficult to give those dogs up. They just move into your home
and your heart. And I found that out for myself! I never thought I wanted
such a small dog, or a male. But that is what is so GREAT about being a
foster parent. Sometimes you get exactly what you need, but never would
have chosen for yourself.
Elvis was at the pound and nobody came for the poor little guy. Luckily, 4 Luv of Dog stepped in and was able to save him. He obviously belonged to a family at one point as he was very well behaved and totally housebroken. He absolutely loves his walks and was a perfect puppy this winter when he went on vacation with us to Blue Fin Bay north of Duluth. He loved walking along the boardwalk and listening to all the sounds and smells. Now all we have to say to him is "want to go on vacation?" and he runs and gets his little sweater. Looking forward to Summer time when we can spend time with him at the lake. Already have his little life jacket all ready to go. Just in case he can't swim!
Thank you 4 Luv of Dog Rescue! You all do such an amazing job for the dogs that are searching for their special homes. You give them that additional time, love and comfort that they desperately are needing! ~ Becky
Mugsy has adjusted fine to his new home and even is beginning to play with
his new playmates, my 3 cats. We just love him. I am sending you a photo
of how happy he is. Thank you.
~ Betty
We
adopted Coco in June 2009. We absolutely love her! She loves the kids and
still has TONS of energy, although I know that our two boys exhaust her
a little bit. She is so playful and always wants to play. Which is good!
Coco is also very cuddly, which we love, especially me! :) We don't know
her true birthday but the vet claims her to be about two years old now.
We are very glad to have her in our life and she brings so much happiness
to our family.
We are so lucky.
~ Jamie and Mark
Happy
New Year! This is just a little update on Hershey (aka Gunther). He is such
a wonderful dog; we all love him. You can't see his bones anymore; he's
all filled in and his fur is like chocolate velvet. He loves his walks and
chasing his eagle & chipmunk toys (they squeak). He fits in here just
perfectly. He came with manners, knowing tricks, and a great personality.
He's like a gentle giant. We are very lucky that he's living with us. Keep
up the good work!
~Pat & Dave
ps. His favorite window is the bank drive up. They know him there and he
makes lots of withdrawals!
Hi, We adopted Sidney last year. She has become a part of our family immediately.
We adopted her on Thanksgiving day. Not knowing her true birthday, we declared
that Thanksgiving will be her birthday. So every Thanksgiving she gets her
small plate and shares in the festivities.
She is a very lovable and happy dog. I was very surprised in how fast she can run and how much energy she has. If food is left out at night and she sees it, that’s is the first place she goes in the morning. She also prefers the laser pointer to any snack or toy. She will drop food out of her mouth to chase it around the house.
Thank you for the service you provide and giving us an additional family member. ~ Mike and Trish
We adopted Penny a little over a year ago. She's a 2 1/2 yr old english
bulldog and It feels like she's been apart of our lives forever. She's made
herself at home and is a true couch potato that wants to do everything her
way. Training has been very interesting, since it's like trying to train
a cat. Our 2 cats despised her at first and tried to eliminate her twice,
by opening up cupboards to dog food and chocolate.
Needless
to say, 2 vet visits later and a ton of child safety latches, the cats have
warmed up to her presence.
She loves short walks, animals, wrestling, food and of course cuddling. She hates car rides, strange men and vaccums (loud wurring noises). I have never had someone so excited to see me when I get home. Her body shakes so hard, when she's excited, that we've nicknamed her tremors. We love her and thank you for all that you do! ~ Chad & Alicia
Dear
4LuvOfDog,
Hello there! I adopted my family about 3 months ago and I am glad I chose
them. The first night they brought me to my new home, I got to sleep on
the bed. I try to take up the whole bed every night and kick my mommy off.
I love to go for walks and even have a friend down the hall who joins us
sometimes. He is a rat terrier named Duke. He always wants to play and sometimes
I don't so I have to tell him to calm down and behave. His mommy is really
nice too. My brother Tristyn is 3 and we get along most of the time. I am
his first doggy so he is learning how to help feed me and play with me.
I love going in his room at night and laying on the floor by his bed until
he goes to sleep. I have to guard the couch during the day. Mommy says I
am napping but she doesnt know I am just pretending waiting
for the chance to protect the house.
I have some issues with being left alone. I tore up some carpet and I thought they would be really mad but mommy said I was in trouble but she still loved me. I also tore up the bottom of my kennel and bent some wires. I am doing better now but still get very anxious when they leave me alone. They don't leave me out of the kennel anymore. Maybe eventually I can talk them into getting me a doggy brother or sister to keep me company.
Well thank you so much for finding my family for me to adopt. ~Deuce
We
adopted Peanut just over a year ago. She is a great dog. We love her dearly.
She gets along wonderfully with all the rest of our animals. We could not
imagine life without her. Everyone that meets her loves her. She is friendly
to everyone. She is the happiest dog I have ever been around. Her favorite
pastimes are walking and hunting grasshoppers which we had an over abundance
of last summer.
The one picture is her with the kitten we adopted this fall. They love to
play with each other and snuggle when they have worn each other out. The
other picture is of her relaxing on vacation this summer. She is getting
better about riding in vehicles. She and our other dog love to play together.
I thought we were crazy to drive to North Dakota from Powell, Wyoming to
pick up a dog in the middle of the winter but I would not change a thing
now. We are so thankful that we adopted her. Thanks to 4luvofdog for working
with Peanut's previous owner to rehome her. ~
